Do you have a family membership and are looking for ways to get the kids involved in Fitness?

Family workoutWe have a program called “Student Athlete” that allows kids 13-16 on a family membership to come upstairs to workout with a parent.  They are also able to attend Group Training Classes with a parent.

The front desk has the form you need to sign up.  The forms asks for basic information and goes over the rules (the main one being that they need to be directly with a parent- doing the same activity.)  A Trainer will call or email to see if you have any questions and if you want to set up an orientation so you both know some guidelines for working out with an adolescent.

For kids younger than 13, we have kid zumba on Tuesday nights at 6pm and are in the process of adding more kids classes in Feb.  We also offer Martial Arts classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.  This is an additional cost, but it’s a great way to get them active and you can workout at the same time.  Another parent/kid option is Fencing.  We offer it on Wed nights 7-8pm.    We have had several parent/kids go through the classes and they really do have a good time together. A slight fee is also involved for Fencing but all classes with a fee have a member/non-member rate.

And of course, we have swim team.  We have an in house team that offers a more competitive focus and one that offers a more “skills development” focus.   Vinny Pryer (vprior@oc-sportsplex.com) is our Aquatics Director and he can give you more information on our swim teams.
